This question was officially dropped by BPSC and full marks were awarded to all candidates. Following the creation of Uttarakhand in November 2000, all perpetual snow-capped Himalayan ranges were transferred out of Uttar Pradesh, leaving modern Uttar Pradesh entirely in the plains without any snow-line. Due to this geographic impossibility, BPSC deleted the question.

इस प्रश्न को बीपीएससी (BPSC) द्वारा आधिकारिक तौर पर निरस्त (Drop) कर दिया गया तथा सभी अभ्यर्थियों को पूरे अंक दिए गए। नवंबर 2000 में उत्तराखंड के गठन के पश्चात हिमाच्छादित हिमालयी क्षेत्र उत्तर प्रदेश से अलग हो गए, जिससे वर्तमान उत्तर प्रदेश में कोई हिमरेखा (Snow-line) विद्यमान नहीं है। इस भौगोलिक विसंगति के कारण आयोग ने प्रश्न को निरस्त कर दिया।
