North India's first bird ringing and monitoring station was established in Bhagalpur district, Bihar. Known as the 'Bird Ringing Station', it was developed through a partnership between the Bihar Environment and Forest Department and the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) to study bird migration patterns along the Gangetic plains.
