वर्धन वंश (पुष्यभूति वंश) की नींव थानेश्वर (वर्तमान हरियाणा) में 'पुष्यभूति' द्वारा रखी गई थी। इसी कारण इस वंश को पुष्यभूति वंश भी कहा जाता है। बाद में प्रभाकरवर्धन ने इस राज्य का विस्तार किया और इसी वंश में महान सम्राट हर्षवर्धन का उदय हुआ।
