Established in 1950 on John Mathai's recommendation, the Estimates Committee (30 members exclusively from Lok Sabha) functions as Parliament's "continuous economy committee":

वर्ष 1950 में गठित प्राक्कलन समिति (30 सदस्य, केवल लोकसभा से) संसद की 'सतत मितव्ययिता समिति' (Continuous Economy Committee) के रूप में कार्य करती है:
- बजट अनुमानों की जांच: मंत्रालयों द्वारा प्रस्तुत बजट प्राक्कलनों की गहन जांच करना कि क्या उनमें निहित नीतियां प्रशासनिक दक्षता और मितव्ययिता के अनुकूल हैं।
