Madhya Pradesh is one of India's premier cement manufacturing states (ranking 3rd nationally, contributing ~12–14% of national production) driven by vast Vindhyan limestone reserves:

• 1. Historical Pioneer: MP's first cement factory was established at Banmore (Morena district) in 1922 by the Tata/Gwalior Cement Co. (later ACC), followed by Kymore Cement Works (Katni) in 1923.
• 2. Geographical Concentration & Major Plants:
  • Satna-Rewa-Katni Belt ("Cement Hub of Central India"):
    • Satna: Birla Vikas Cement, Prism Johnson Cement, Maihar Cement.
    • Rewa: Jaypee Cement at Bela and Naubasta.
    • Katni: ACC Kymore.
