- 1. Direct Open Competitive Examination (प्रत्यक्ष खुली प्रतियोगी परीक्षा): All-India examinations including Civil Services Examination (CSE), Engineering Services (ESE), CDS, etc.
- 2. Promotion and Deputation (पदोन्नति एवं प्रतिनियुक्ति): Screening and selecting eligible State Civil Service officers for induction into IAS/IPS/IFS cadres (and Lateral Entry).
