- किसी जटिल परिस्थिति या नैतिक दुविधा में उचित और अनुचित का निर्णय करने हेतु तर्क, नैतिक सिद्धांतों, संवैधानिक मूल्यों और न्यायसंगत आधारों का प्रयोग करके विवेकपूर्ण निष्कर्ष तक पहुँचने की चिंतन प्रक्रिया (लॉरेंस कोहलबर्ग अनुसार)।
