चार्वाक का आत्मा सम्बन्धी मत (देहात्मवाद):

चार्वाक शरीर से पृथक् किसी नित्य, अमर आत्मा को नहीं मानता।
चार भौतिक तत्वों (पृथ्वी, जल, तेज, वायु) के विशिष्ट संयोग से शरीर में चेतना उत्पन्न होती है—"चैतन्यविशिष्टः कायः पुरुषः"। शरीर के नष्ट होते ही चेतना (आत्मा) भी समाप्त हो जाती है।
