- आर्थिक लाभ हेतु खाद्य पदार्थों में घटिया, हानिकारक या विजातीय पदार्थों का मिलाना अथवा उसमें से उसके पोषक व आवश्यक तत्वों को निकाल लेना, जिससे खाद्य की गुणवत्ता घट जाती है और स्वास्थ्य को गंभीर खतरा होता है।
