A.(a) ₹ 420
B.(b) ₹ 360Correct
C.(c) ₹ 300
D.(d) ₹ 270
Explanation & Solution

Correct Answer: (B) ₹ 360

If Z gives ₹ 40 to X, all three have an equal amount EEE, so y=Ey = Ey=E, x=E−40x = E - 40x=E−40, and z=E+40z = E + 40z=E+40. Total money is x+y+z=3Ex + y + z = 3Ex+y+z=3E. If Y gives ₹ 40 to X, Y has y−40=E−40y - 40 = E - 40y−40=E−40 while Z has z=E+40z = E + 40z=E+40. We are given E−40=12(E+40)E - 40 = 12\frac{1}{2}21(E + 40)E−40=21(E+40), which solves to 12E=60  ⟹  E=12012\frac{1}{2}21E = 60   ⟹  \implies⟹ E = 12021E=60⟹E=120. Thus, total money is 3×120=₹ 3603 ×\times× 120 = ₹ \text{₹ }₹  3603×120=₹ 360.

A.(a) ₹ 420
B.(b) ₹ 360सही
C.(c) ₹ 300
D.(d) ₹ 270
